Growing up at Balboa Park, I have had the best memories and experiences. Now, as a player for Cleveland High School in Reseda and at North Valley Venom with my club team, I am proud to inform the new generation of soccer players of the successful athletes that began in the dirt filled fields of Region 33.

On January 5th 2010 in the Daily News Paper, they announced the "players to watch" for the upcoming season.

It is with honor to announce that six of the fifty players from across the city had their beginnings at Balboa Park:

Danielle Duhl, Harvard-Westlake, Soph.
Izzy Guglielmi, Louisville, Sr.
Gaby Kaufman, Calabasas, Sr.
Melissa Lopez, Notre Dame, Sr.
Morgan Ritter, Notre Dame, Sr.
Amber Schwindler, Cleveland, Sr.

And so, to those with dreams, I say never quit. And to those who live their dreams, never forget where you came from and have pride in your home.
