AUGUST 22, 2007
My name is Peter Godwin and I am the
Division Manager for the Boys U-6 division. I am sending out this email to all parents andguardians of registered U-6 division boys participants.
For you records, my contact information is:
Peter C. Godwin
Home: 818-392-8883
Cell: 312-305-2143
Work: 888-808-4667 extension 164
Email: pcgodwin@gmail.com
While I am on vacation (until August 28th) the best way to reach me is via email. My cell phone coverage is spotty but feel free to try and leave a message if you don't reach me.
The purpose of this email is to make one final plea for coach volunteers. Coaching U-6 entails a very limited time commitment and right now we are seven coaches shy of a full compliment. That means if things do not change nearly 35 registered boys will not play. ONLY THE KIDS OF COACH VOLUNTEERS ARE GUARANTEED A SPOT ON A TEAM.
This is my first year as division manager and I have dedicated on the average of 10 hours per week in volunteering for this role, and while on vacation I have been spending nearly 2 hours per day attempting to finalize the coaches list and the team roster.
The coaching role, particularly for the U-6 division has a far less rigorous commitment -- training, some organizational work and showing up on Saturdays for games. There are NO practices in U-6 so the commitment is one day per week, a day that you likely will be spending at Balboa Park anyway accompanying your child.
I must finalize teams by this Friday -- this cannot be delayed any further. Therefore, it is IMPERATIVE that I receive confirmation from at least 7 parents/guardians that they are willing to coach. The last Region 33 coaches training is August 25th at Balboa Park. If you can go, please do. Otherwise, I can help arrange an alternate location offered by another region.
Scheduling and updates will be posted at www.ayso33.org. Check the calendar and the Boys U-6 Division web page at http://www.ayso33.org/division/BU6.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO COACH.
UPDATE: AUGUST 6, 2007:
Welcome to the Boys U-6 Division Manager Web site for AYSO Region 33. My name is Peter Godwin and this is my first season as Division Manager. I will make every effort to keep you informed of relevant information both on this Web site and via e-mail. Please contact me if you have any question. My e-mail address is pcgodwin@gmail.com.
If you are a parent or guardian of Boys U-6 and have not been receiving my email correspondence or phone calls, please be certain to forward your contact information to me as soon as possible via e-mail.
WE STILL NEED COACHES! WE HAVE 95 REGISTERED BOYS IN U-6 AND ONLY 8 TRAINED COACHES TO DATE (from attendance at the August 4th training session). We need 19 coaches (5 players per team) to ensure that all registered boys play.
Another coaches training will take place at Balboa Park beginning at 8am on August 25th. Please attend even if you are not 100% certain you can commit to coaching.
I will continue to update this page periodically, so check in regularly.
Peter
