Why can't my players wear earrings?

This really is a safety issue.

If a player is wearing hoop earrings, they can easily get caught by a nearby player and could cause some damage to the ear.

If they are wearing studs and they get hit by a ball in the ear, they will have a nice hole in the side of their head where the back of the stud pokes out. Covering them with bandaids does not solve the problem.

If your player just got their ears pierced, they may be a little frightened by the thought of taking the earings out either because their ears may close up or the general fear of pain. There is no way that the hole in the ear will close up in a 1 hour soccer match, so that is not an excuse.

Make sure your parents are aware of needing to remove earrings well before your first game so that they can get their child comfortable with taking the earrings in and out.
